We are a members-only canine social club that fuses hospitality into a communal atmosphere. Our space offers a complete beverage program, a rotating food concept, curated programming, and other exclusive membership offerings. As a General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations, ensuring our club remains the gold standard in pet-inclusive hospitality. We often get referred to as the Soho House for dog owners here in LA and we take pride in delivering an experience that garners such compliments.

About DOG PPL Events: 

Are you passionate about events and working with dogs? DOG PPL, Santa Monica’s premier private membership club dog park, is looking for an enthusiastic and organized Events Intern to join our vibrant Events Team! This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event planning and execution while working in a fun and dynamic environment in the pet space.

At DOG PPL, we host 9-12 monthly events, ranging from low-lift recurring events to large-scale tentpole events. Our events cater to all levels of experience, including intimate workshops, festive holiday markets, and even transforming our club into the Arctic by bringing in 100 tons of real snow. We take pride in creating exceptional experiences for both our members and their dogs.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist the Event Producer and Coordinator in planning and executing events at DOG PPL.

  • Help with event logistics, including event production, setup, breakdown, and on-site coordination.

  • Support the team with member communication, event registration, and any pre-event preparation.

  • Assist with vendor relations and communication, ensuring all event materials are in place and vendors feel equipped and prepared to enter our club.

  • Help with managing the flow of both small and large events, ensuring everything runs smoothly.

  • Assist the events team with various administrative tasks.

  • Assist the events team with moving furniture, props, and decor during event setup and breakdown.

  • Be part of the fun and energy of DOG PPL events, helping ensure both dogs and their owners have an unforgettable experience.

    • This internship is designed to immerse you in every aspect of event planning. You will work closely with our Event Producer and Coordinator, gaining exposure to event logistics, coordination, and hands-on event execution.

    • You'll work closely with the events team, as well as cross-functional departments like partnerships, creative, safety, grounds, food & beverage, and membership. You'll have a chance to understand the big picture of our events while honing your skills in a collaborative environment.

    • We're committed to your professional growth. Throughout the internship, you’ll receive mentorship from experienced professionals and have the opportunity to contribute to multiple aspects of event production, helping you develop new skills and build your career.

    • You'll be involved in meaningful work! Whether you’re assisting with event production and setup, coordinating logistics, or supporting larger tentpole events, you’ll have a chance to make a real impact on the success of each event.

What We’re
Looking For

Career:

Currently pursuing event management, hospitality, marketing, or communications related fields.

PASSION for dogs & EVents:

Passion for events and a love for dogs!

sKILLS:

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple tasks. Excellent communication skills and a friendly, team-oriented attitude. Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure. A positive, proactive approach with a desire to contribute to a growing event program.

tRANSPORTATION:

Access to a car, as you'll be responsible for running errands and handling pick-ups and drop-offs to support event needs.

oTHER:

Ability to lift 20-30 lbs.
